Amazing spot, brilliant little camping barn, great log burner downstairs, overall fantastic.

What outstanding snowy views and an amazing night sky! We had a great time exploring the area. The upstairs of the bothy is a lovely snug area, we spent most of our stay there  …Just down the road is Shap, we highly recommend the fish shop.

Fantastic and really special place

Honestly, the bothy was EXACTLY as described. We walked in and it just felt exactly right and honest to the advert, very happy with our little trip out to Shap. By the time we left we were in our element in such a cosy little space. More than ample kitchen amenities, water, cushions and blankets are provided, it’s so easy to make yourself at home there.

Best place to stay: A proper hidden gem. Great pair of hosts made sure everything was organised and clean and made sure our stay was a good one.

Great little place in the middle of nowhere. Comfy space for up to eight people on the ground floor, with a log burner and small kitchen space. The church pew and tables are a nice touch. Ample space for “camping sleeping” upstairs. Toilets outside, which is fine. Just generally a great place to escape and plan an adventure from.

Shap Fell Bothy is an amazing experience – we got some candles going and lit the log fire and just enjoyed being ‘lost’ for the night. After a couple of hours the downstairs was so cosy that we actually decided to sleep there, but the upstairs space was pretty cool too. We had a fantastic walk on the marsh behind the bothy at sunset and the view was incredible.
